I’ve made at least six log cabin quilts and have never trimmed the blocks. I do cut all the logs to the proper size before I sew them together. I think this keeps the blocks more uniform in size than...

Here is mine. I believe it's called the Idaho Beauty. The block finished at 8" square and contained 43 individual pieces. I had to use three different seam widths to get the points to align...

Help with wool batting

I just purchased some Hobbs Tuscany 100% wool batting for a large quilt which is intended to be washed. The directions on the batting are making me think I may have made a mistake. They say that the...

Tidal Pool is finished

I thought this was a really cool pattern by Marlous Designs, but I was determined to buy all the needed fabrics at one shop at one time, and I wasn't totally happy with my options or my decisions....

It’s very interesting how each of us prefers one quilting technique over another. I’ve done FMQ on my domestic, and I had a sit-down Tiara for many years. I disliked the actual quilting process, and...

That's a great-looking quilt. I'm thinking of a scrappy version with the stars and border in one color, the churn dashes in another, and the background and four patches scrappy.

I’m good at choosing fabrics/colors for my quilts. I’m bad at being creative. I’d much rather follow a pattern. I’m more a technician than an artist.
