Default Necchi Sewing Machine on CL

http://jackson.craigslist.org/for/2963268950.html

I've been wanting to 'branch out' to other brands of vintage sewing machines (have Singer and Kenmore) but don't know a lot about Necchi. Can anyone tell me what model this is? Is there a site for dating and maintaining Necchi's?

For some reason, the "mood" has hit me to buy ANOTHER vintage machine! LOL

It doesn't look to be all that vintage to me and they're asking more than I'd pay for it. Look for a Necchi BU or Super Nova.

Yeah, I'd only jump at a Necchi if it were one of the lovely little all metal beasties.

I have the Necchi Lelia 510, got it for a whoppin' $7.50, all metal and made in Italy! She's a pretty girl but haven't really had time to play with her.

Necchi are a good, reliable machine. My sister-in-laws are seamstresses and their Nonna (dec) had a thriving business...Necchi are a brand they used. Love yours ppquilter!

Hi! I have 2 Necchi lists on Yahoo but we discuss only the vintage Italian models, like the BU and Supernovas. Come on over! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/necchisewingmachineclub/

I just joined the Board recently and love reading the daily posts and pictures. I've saved a bunch of posts, pic, and "stuff" from here and maybe someday I'll get back to sewing and be able to post something I've done. Life has been a bit too full of challenges not related to sewing. I'm also on the Treadleon list and Sally Walter there had introduced me to the QB with her posts there. The CL one posted is a post-Italian model.

This person's blog talks about the Lelia. It also has a short rundown of Necchi models and manufacture dates. http://leoladyshousecollectiblesandg...a-my-love.html

Needlebar's wiki has some great info on them as well http://needlebar.org/nbwiki/index.php/Necchi

Lelia is a 60's - 70's machine. Not sure what the cutoff year is for a sewing machine to be called "vintage". I guess it just depends.

Cheers.
