I like the idea of posting the pictures somewhere else, but with links from here, esp if they could be separated into personal albums.
The DJ is 225 blocks/triangles, so even if only 25 people join the cyber party, if you post every block thats 5625 posts! Ouch! Plus normally at least 5 people will post a "Wow" comment, which is what, an extra 28,000 posts.
I suspect Admin would go mad if we did that!

    What if -

and I have no idea if this is possible -

there was a main thread for this DJ project - and then subthreads for each individual block -

so all the A-1s would be together, all the B-2s together, etc.

and if comments were to be made, they could be PMd to the maker.

But I think the last thing Admin wants to do is start another section.

Wow Blue - that was quite a find, what a beautiful Jane quilt! Still, with the colors I chose, I am going to use a cream with gold background. :D

I agree with you Bear, but the only problem is that this is going to be a very big deal with lots of participants. IMHO I think it makes perfect sense to start a new section so we can have subsections for the blocks - the tutes, etc. Or rather than blocks, we could have subsections for the week - "week 1" week 2" and list the blocks for each week. In that could be the tutes, questions, pics, etc.

Klue? Patrice/SD? What do you think?

what your suggesting is more along the line of what i planned on doing.

each week i'll start a new post with the list of blocks to do that week along with the tutes (as needed). it might be best to post these in the tute section and its up to admin if he wants to keep them up for the long term or dump them.

then i'll start a thread in the pic section of the fourm and we'll post pics of that weeks blocks there and we can all admire them.

then i'll set up a flicker account for the cyber party and people can make their album in that section and up load all their pics so we have one master file of the project that stays neat and condensed.

    everyone share your thoughts

Or each person participating could put the newest development in his/her PDA with a note on the subject line -

but it would be nice to keep the whole thing more or less in one spot - and on this site

yes, you should label your blocks because we really won't have a completed row to sew together until really late into the year.

how people want to set it up might be best depending on the type of layout and design they're using.

my quilt is laid out on the diagonal so i made a folder for the blocks that run in each diagonal because i don't want to use the same fabric in any 2 blocks that touch each other.

Yes, I think if we have tutes, pics, pdas, then it will be too hard to find everything. Since this is such a large undertaking, and there will be a lot of discussion and the like, I think it needs its own category...I know that some do not like the "chit chat" and what the "brass tacks" so to speak. So, perhaps there can be a thread for that too, sort of the "DJ PDA" or "DJ Chit Chat/Comments". We can have the tutes, individual pics, etc. but keep them in the DEAR JANE CYBER SEW section along with the chat or whatever.
