Thanks Meredith! That is exactly how I did the right side and bottom sashing. I have to take off the right side sashing on the 13th blocks. (stupid me didn't think that through before sewing). I'm so happy to hear that the tris will fit perfectly if I follow those directions

I am sooo anxious to lay it all out. I finished quilting the square blocks last night!!! Yippee!! Sure feels like another milestone passed. We have to put out hay, etc. for the animals today, so I don't know if I will be able to do it today...but I'll post pic when I get there!!

Patti, you are sailing!!! You will be finished long before Valentines Day!!

I do have all my the blocks sewn together, and yes, I did move some around! In all my excitement I sewed the individual sashings and cornerstones to the bottom of row 13. Really?! Watch out for Row 13, we should just call it the good luck row, you must work harder for the finish on this row, right Patti? I need to sew the 3/4 inch (1/4 finished) sashing to all four sides after my big rip it off party on row 13.

I have a Jan block and two Patti blocks, all the rest are from the same fabric line. I am very HAPPY with the result. The tris are ready to sew and I have a mix of fabrics for the tweeners, but want to lay it out one more time before I finalize! The corners/kites will happen next year.

BTW those sashings tips, I think were posted around 2002...I printed several postings months ago, after several searches when I was planning sashings and cornerstones, etc....might be from the Dear Jane blog...

See my bottom row, I called the 13th row, it is the M row, don't do what I did!!! No sashings and cornerstones on the bottom of row M!!! :D

BTW: My Jan block is B13 Four Corner Press.
My Patti blocks are F9 Autumn and L11 Caitlins Rose.

    Oh, WOW, Meredith!!!

What's wrong with sashings & cornerstones on the bottom? Is it because they're not 1/4" finished? Why couldn't you just trim them down to 1/2" as attached; that way they would finish at 1/4" after all. Then you could stitch the other 3 edges and trim after sewing. fJust an idea to save you from having to frog-stitch.

That looks so pretty Meredith! I'm excited for you! I also feel honored that you used my block, it does look good in your quilt!

Congrats Patti on quilting your last block!! You are really rolling along!

I finished my last block and am working on the last few tris. Been working alot so have been slowed down a bit.

Oh Meredith!!!! It is gorgeous! I love, love, love it, but you knew I would since I love your fabs. You are the one really on a roll. Isn't it a great milestone feeling to have that parts one!

I unsewed the bottom of row M last night and only lack unsewing 5 more of the column 13 blocks where I stitched the right side on. I did consider just trimming them down Kathy, like you suggested, but in the end decided that I want the tris to really stand out. I was afraid that the cornerstone would detract from the tri points. Hahahah...I'm very optimistic that I won't cut the points off when I sew them together

Its a beauty Meredith....you can really puff your chest out for this one!
