    We've got plenty of time - each of you will get your respective quilt done, then we can do a block posting, even if it isn't until Christmas!

    Elle, half way is impressive, I love love your fabrics, beautiful!! I agree with you Elle, it doesn't matter the order of finish. I strongly believe finished is ALWAYS better than perfectly unfinished. :D

    Patti, you will be done any day...:)

    Here you go ladies, you asked for pics. It is almost funny, I planned to use the creams for the sashing, and those that remember, it was decided the black looked better than creams or reds for the sashing. Then, I planned to use the creams for the tweener tris, but I didn't think they looked right. Now, at the end I thought surely they would work in the scallops, but they seem like a wash out. My second choice was to add a same color fabric to the tweener for the scallops, as to add the same fabric, the seam would look like a mistake, at least to me. BTW, I don't have the sashing sewn on the blocks, it is black...

    Thanks Kathy for the suggestion, of dark binding, as I have the red set aside, but I don't have enough of the blacks or darks greens, so it will be red!

    Sorry this is so long... What do you think?

    Meredith...it looks gorgeous!! I'm going to have to vote for using the colored fabric for the scallops. Are you using the exact same fabric for the scallop as you used for the between? It appears that some of them are different. To me, the pieced tris seem like blocks and the betweens look like cones, so it makes sense to make the cone "complete"...I know, its silly...but... thats JMHO...

    I think there are a few more who have been working along but not posting here. Pro has been working on hers....and I think there are a couple more who have been posting on their own blogs. When we all finish...one of us should gather up a finished pic from everyone and post a new thread under Pics with a shot of everyone's quilt like we did for the IRR2 finished quilts. Again...JMHO... And.....

    Yeehaw!!! I WIN the stupidest quilter of ALL award!!! :blush:!!!

    This morning I got all excited about laying out the quilt and attaching the tri borders.....so....I did and the 1st thing that I noticed was........ta da....I sewed the left side and bottom COMPLETELY backwards! :shock:...Yup...I very carefully laid out, arranged all my tris correctly, numbered and labeled them...the forgot to make an allowance for the direction that I sewed them together! So...look closely...where LS1 is supposed to be...it is LS13..LS2 ended up as LS12....and so on. :roll: Am I doing anything about it but laugh????? NOOOOOOO!

    So...here are progress pics from today...

    Elle, I think you wanted to see the trapunto..here is the back and how I put the batting together.

    Patti, it is beautimous! And kitty likes it too! Don't you just love how whenever a new top is laid out, the cat appears and takes over!

    LOL, Sharon...that darn cat! DH asked me how much cat hair was sewn into this quilt. This time it wasn't on the floor for 1/2 a second before she showed up. :roll:

    Meredith, I have to agree with you - the creams do seem to wash out - no umph to them! However, I really like the red you ahve chosen for the binding. Your center is wonderful!!! Aren't you getting excited!!! The color-match scallops do look great!

    Patti, your Chocolate Jane is soooo pretty, and sooooo close to finished....loving it!!!! :thumbup:

    Ok, I debated about matching the fabric or not, I just thought the seam between the tri and scallop would look odd with matched fabric, maybe not. I will try sewing on matched scallops on the left side. Since I ripped off the cream scallops last night, its wasn't so bad. I would rather rip off the same color scallops on the right side now and be happy later!! :lol:
