I did complete a page for each block, including the time it took me - I just didn't put much, if anything, on the diary section, apart from a few noteworthy things. I am not a great diary keeper, but I thought future generations in the family might be interested.

No journal for me...mine probably won't be kept in the "family" since we don't have any kids. I kept a block count on the excel spreadsheet that was linked somewhere at the beginning of this thread, but thats about it. I think if its to be a "family" heirloom, a journal would be a great accessory piece to the quilt though!

Yep I'm using the spreadsheet from this thread, think I will just keep on with that. Not much of a diary keeper myself.

It's good to keep the spreadsheet up, because you will be able to put your final figure for number of pieces on the quilt at the end. Mine and Patti's are different, and I am willing to bet they will all be different too.

Yup, I think there will be lots of different counts. We all found different ways to do the little blocks to make it easier on each of us. I did the scallops a different way than Lesley did too. It will be interesting to see all the totals.

Oh good to hear, I don't feel so lazy now.
Did everyone put all the blocks in the same place as the original DJ quilt or are you doing your own placements? Just realised some of my colors aren't matching for an around the world type and don't really want to redo them as they have turned out quite nicely.

I only had to move a couple of blocks, but I did find I moved more of the tris, as I was making them rather randomly, and then found I might have two blue ones next to each other or some such nonsence. To get my TRTW format, I coloured in a printout of the design layout, and assigned a particular fabric to each round, so I could keep track of which fabric I needed to make each block.

I moved several of the blocks on mine too. I did fairly scrappy, but ended up with like backgrounds or some other reason. Then on the tris...well..I spent a long time laying them out and did move several of them as well. Then I carefully stacked them up and sewed them together only to find out that due to the way I stacked them..the left side and the bottom are TOTALLY backwards!!!..i.e., 1 should have been 13, 2 should have been 12...and so on. Guess what....????? Its still that way!
