Judy.............your April Tulip block for 2012 is darling. I just love the colors & the fabric's you chose to put together. The butterfly just adds the perfect touch. Very nice work & thank you for sharing with all of us.

Stitchinluver, Judy and Surfergirl.... all of you have made wonderfully beautiful blocks. I see everyone's blocks and I keep telling myself I need to go to a class on fabric selections.. Tried the color wheel but I don't really get it. Went through a tutorial and all. I know I get really stuck on browns... I love them... what a funny color to have as a favorite.. But I cant seem to resist having brown somewhere in my block and Blues and Greens. And I notice I seem to tend toward the washed out look in my fabric picks. Guess I need to work on getting out of my box as I have heard others say.

I think it is fine to use colors you prefer. Someone told me some time ago that you are going to be looking at it for a while, so use what you like. You can introduce a color into your browns and greens (suggest looking at flowers), the colors can still be washed out (some painters do that). So enjoy whatever you select!
