Hopetoquilt, your applique block is beautiful! One wouldn't know it's your first needle turn applique!

Nicky, what a fun block and such bright beautiful colors! I never worked with Carol Doak's patterns but I think I should give it a try!

Loved seeing all the different blocks! So much talent! Still auditionaing fabrics also. Have only done machine applique and not too fond of it. Will try to do hand applique, such a pretty block deserves the best I can do

I have never done turn needle applique and am nervous about it. Need to find a tutorial. I almost chose this pattern to do as well! I'll have to see how the applique goes for me!

AddieLou.......I just know that you can do this applique' block with ease!! I was so nervous with my first one last year, but after giving it a go, it went together really nice. I chose to machine applique' mine instead of needle turn, but I love it either way. Good Luck.

    Default Need Some Advice/Opinions

My April block is ready to be appliqued but I would like some opinions before I proceed. I will do the applique by machine (thumb problems - can't do hand work) and can't decide if I want to do satin stitch or blanket stitch. I am also torn between doing all the applique in one color thread (what color?????) or in varigated thread. The pic shows my block and the thread I am thinking about for the flower and one for the leaves. Help! All suggestions welcome - criticisms, not so much....
    Thanks!
