    JeanieG,
I love your colors, to me yellow is peaceful and soothing and any color you put with it looks good.
oksewnsew, I didn't notice the hummingbird until it was pointed out-perfect! To me your block looks like you're looking out a screen door into the garden. Love it!

Default Off the fence and I finally chose the winning fabrics!!

JeanieG and Lovely great blocks Im finally off the fence I was auditioning Pinks, Purples, and a few Yellows. Then this morning I opened my eyes and said Orange...that's the ticket. LOL so I went to my stash to see what oranges I had... Here is my very Rustic Tulip in my opinion..LOL. I have been practicing using a satin stitch applique so I gave it a go on this block.. Im very happy with my results. I still need more practice with the satin stitch... but I definitely have become better with the practice. I didnt have any orange thread can you believe it!!! So I used the light blue to pull out the blue in the fabric..but I think the outline in Orange would of been much better. This was such an awesome block. I know I know..I use the word awesome way too much.. LOL

Don't apologize for using 'awesome', especially when referring to this block - I love the way the blue brings out the blue in your orange print, and the yellow below it makes the colors pop too. It is indeed an awesome block, I wouldn't even dare try to do a satin stitch for my appique, it would turn out lumpy and grotesque, yours is beautiful and smooth - I'm stuck with needle turned or blanket stitch, maybe someday I'll have the time to sit down and work on my satin stitch so I too can turn out an awesome block like yours.
