Default 1-April-2014 Project of the Month Photos.

the original this one followed the directions exactly. It was my first one and I use it all of the time for my sewing stuff.
and then i started playing
this one is the same lenth but is deeper for my daughter's art supplies. I made this one, to see if I could do it more than one color, i used the same length and then sewed the pieces together and cut the inside pieces to match.
applique, its a deeper bag for pencils and school supplies and I put his name on it before i put it together.
and my newest creation . this bag is two colors and fully quilted. it also has a strip on the inside sewn to the lining fabric. to put my pins through so they stop jamming me in the hands. I have made a couple more, one for my daughter that is all yellows, two bigger ones that were in badger fabrics, that I gave away as cosmetic bags. and i had one failure where I tried to add a 2nd zipper and pocket to the front, but i scavenged it for the zippers.... So let's see what you have made.

Super project. Thank You. Like you I plan to make one according to original instructions and then see if I can adjust for different uses. Thank you also for your prompt posting.

I made this one yesterday... i've been telling my bee friends that i need to make a bag for my quilting supplies. i wanted the base to be wider, so i added a gusset... and i just couldn't make it without quilting. i also added an inside pocket fully closed with velcro in case i need to carry buttons, money, or other small items. i also wanted my name somewhere in case it got left behind... so i added one of those woven name labels as the pull tab to help open the velcro pocket. i cut the gusset 2" at the bottom and 1/2" at the top... if i make another, i'd cut the base wider so it will sit on its own better.

QuiltnNan. Super fun idea ..really like the gusset idea. And your use of scraps makes it even better . Thanks for posting.
