The only suggestion I have is, to incr the amt of stitches per inch. This was the instruction I got from an animal baby quilt that I paper pieced. Helps to keep the stitches in place when removing the paper. Hope this helps.

Yes, she was awsome, always on the go and taking home made pies and quilts to people in need. Her husband died two years ago at 101. I am sure when she arrived in heaven her first words were, I better get to making your home made bread, who has been baking for you while you waited for me to get here?

Bevysue57 - what an honor for your quilt block to be part of your Grandma's funeral. 98 - wow, certainly sounds like she led a wonderful long life!! Prayers going your way.

    Bevysue,

So sorry to hear of your loss, but your grandmother and grandfather must have been great people. What memories of your dear grandmother taking the pies to people.

My grandmother passed at the age of 100 yrs, 2 months in 1984. I have such great memories of her, too.

You are in our thoughts and prayers.

    Mary

Posted my block earlier but it must be in cyberspace since I haven't seen it come across the board so I'll try again.

I extended my sky since the cross on my real Church is on the steeple - this cross was my mom's. Bottom snow may 'melt' when all blocks are ready to assemble - will see how it all fits together.

It so much fun checking out the 'creativity' of BOM builders. Have you read Pillars of the Earth? You all now can empathize with the characters - they too struggled while erecting Churches!

I am so sorry to hear of your Grandmother's passing. Your Church block will be a lovely thing to build a flower arrangement around. I know your Grandmother would be so proud of you. My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.

I like both attempt's at your church block. I especially love the ground fabric you used at the bottom of your first block, it's great. Don't give up, as I just know you can do it. From your second picture, they both look use able to me. Take your break first, then give it another try. Good Luck.

On the one on the right in your photo, if you could coax just a tiny bit more out of the seam allowances on the triangle over the door, your roof would line up just fine.

(That being said, my roof was off in the other direction. Since I already did the door section twice, and had a few other 'creative blocks' along the way, I've decided to live with it for now. May go back and fix it yet....)

I really like the second block you did!
