    Ditto!!! Love those church windows.
Thanks! The symbols mean something to me: The "g" stands for God where the doorknob would be on the church door as He opens and closes all doors, the "thread" stands for God mending us together, the "mirror" stands for His word allowing us to see ourselves and strive to have His image.
That is so thoughtful. Thanks for sharing.

I can't believe you whipped this up so quickly - I agonized for days over fabric choice & had audition after audition.
Next time I'll just send my DH to do this step. LOL

Roof is great & the Church looks like clapboards - I even see hands raised in prayer in your windows.

I love it. It has drama and the lights are on inside. How great is that!

Your "Lady" is perfect. Love your block and the sky is brilliant. I think the dimensions are perfect too.

You have my sympathy over your loss. My grandmother was 94 and my grandfather was 98 when they passed. So blessed to have had them for so many years.
Welcome to the Board. What a providential time to have joined. Our Father in heaven is truly in charge.

This one is falling apart at the seams now.. :( So back to the sewing board for another try. The roof is not fitting very well either.. any suggestions of things to do on my next attempt???
Your church is darling and I love the sky and foreground too. Try shortening your stitch length. Might help when removing the paper. Happy quiltling!

I extended my sky since the cross on my real Church is on the steeple - this cross was my mom's. Bottom snow may 'melt' when all blocks are ready to assemble - will see how it all fits together.

It so much fun checking out the 'creativity' of BOM builders. Have you read Pillars of the Earth? You all now can empathize with the characters - they too struggled while erecting Churches!
Wow! terrific windows and block. Love the cross too.

i found my pattern was out in the same area above the door.
i laid out all my pattern bits on the table to check they matched up first.
what i did was re-drew the line on that bit so that it met that corner.

have a look at your pattern bits this time before you make a third, and move the line if you have too. it could save you making a full lap quilt out of failed roof-churches lol...
looks great other than that wee rebellious roofline! :)
Oh..yeah I decided last night that try number three would be my last of this block..haha... but hopefully with all the help from ladies on this board like yourself with helpful advice I will succeed in making the third church with a the roof on straight..otherwise I will just live with it and tell everyone that there was a revival going on and all the singing and music to worship the Lord raised the roof.. :) :)
Leave it and keep the story! That is precious.
