Hi Cajun,
I'm not SulaBug, but I don't see why you couldn't substitute your own pattern. This is not a swap and for our own use, I really don't see a problem. We can skip a month, so why not substitute pattern? I may be way off base, but that is how I see it. Anyone else see it that way?

I don't think it matters as long as we wind up with 12 blocks. I am going to substitute a block. I'm not a cat lover.

Thank you ladies for your input regarding the February Cat block, for the BOM. We want everyone to be so happy with their blocks & their finished quilt at the end of the year, so go ahead & substitute any block you need to do. We all want this project to be a fun for all & having fun making & sharing these lovely blocks together!!

After attempting this block a couple of times, I finally got it. This was my very first attempt at paper piecing, so forgive my less-than-perfect result. It doesn't want to lie completely flat, and I'm not sure why. Could it be the scraps I used were different content (cotton, polyester, etc)? These were just scraps, so I don't know what the content was....

I think your block looks great. No one but you would know it was your first attempt at paperpiecing. I think you did a super job. Hit it with some spray starch and it'll probably behave.

Congratulation's on your first attempt at paper pieceing!! What a beautiful Snow Blossom block you have just made & shared with all of us. I love your fabric combination of color's, too. Together with your Heart Cat block for February you have done a wonderful job. Keep up the great work & always remember to share with us. I am so proud of you & your work!!

Okay, I've been lurking long enough - I have succumbed to the challenge - I'm only a little behind, hope I can catch up by the end of the month ...
