Happylab: I agree with Judy. Because I make a square quilt I would use 64 blocks. Depending on the pattern and whether you want borders you might want to reduce that number accordingly. Its kind of hard to plan ahead with a mystery, which is why I frequently make less than I really think I will need, so I can add borders if I want. Just a comment, and not really relevant to anything, but I make the 96X96 for a double or queen size bed. I like the fall to be longer then I don't need a dust ruffle. The last king I made measure 118 X 118, a monster.

Vicki, I would love to see a picture of the purses you are making. Love those leaves.

Glad you made the train, Sulabug.

Well, I hope I didn't make a problem for myself with these stripes, but I did want to use the Halloween fabric. The scary cats will have to wait, maybe for a border.

Judy, which would be better for the focus fabric, black or stripe? Usually I don't buy stripes. They're so.........stripy.

Whitepine: Whichever way you choose, that's going to be great.
Here are my two. The autumn leaves is the table runner and the blue is the quilt. I'm really happy with how that blue plays with the floral.

Wow, I agree. That blue has so much motion in it.

Wow - wonderful blocks everyone! So fun to see the finished HST's! I am using mine as leaders/enders for my Farmer's Wife Sampler 30's blocks.
