I should have added my calculation. Size of the block times 2 plus 7/8. (4 1/2 x 2)9 + 7/8 and I rounded up to 10"
There was very little trimming, used my Tucker Trimmer (love that tool). I should note that using this method you end up with 4 extra blocks, but I figured they could be used on the back.

Oh YEA! It worked. Thank you all for your input on making images smaller. Hubby saw my frustration (actually heard my frustration) & went up online into the cannon site, read through all the info & after an hour of reading all the little print, found out how to just change it in the camera. Don't ask how he did it...I wasn't involved, but he did it! If someone wants to know, I can ask him how he did it...if he can remember. We are not very computer savvy, so we accidently do things & can't remember how! Let me know, & we can try to help. I am now a "happy camper" to be able to just download & post pics once again!
