All right. I have all the 9- patches ready to sew together, but want clarifification in case I misunderstood the directions. Are the folded squares that make HSTs and tacked with glue onto the white squares, are they supposed to remain folded and then sewn to the other parts of the 9p? In other words, do the colored triangles remain double thickness while the white is single? I didn't see anything about cutting away the other halves.

    .

That's what I thought, but I'd rather ask than unsew!

SunlitensSmiles -- yes, they measure correctly at 2-1/2" squares, so those fairies really know their stuff!

You sure you weren't celebrating with SunlitenSmiles in the wine car? Did Lynnie bring any chocolate wine yet??

I'm thinking there may be a gremlin on this train. QltrSue, your iron may have been a close call for a fire. My homemade light box was also a close call today. It's a cardboard box with an old windowpane on top and two halogen lights inside. I forgot to turn them off and was gone for a couple of hours. Things were really hot when I got back. No mechanical failure, just brain malfunction.

It is March, Roma, it may be the Leprechauns......if it is you will find the squares, as they are not evil, only up to mischief.

Yes, Whitepine, I think we both dodged a bullet with our appliances! Glad there was no harm done and a reminder to be sure to check that all are off when leaving the room! Whew!!

When I turned 70 (a few years back) purchased a really good power strip and everything is plugged into it ....when not sewing it is off and know this for sure because it has a big colored light that shines to the ceiling when power is on. This is because I am the only one here, might really annoy another person......although here on the train no one has complained......giggle
