Now that I see it...I remember doing this block for a project a couple of years ago. Used a different range of colors for the ribbons.

As I was doing the pieces, which remained a mystery to me!, I was thinking "this is some kind of ribbon star." This is my block. The second picture is a group of five baby quilts that all had the same 12 Urban Zoology prints in them but were each unique in pattern and coordinating colors. They were made for my son/daughter-in-law/granddaughter and the children of three of their closest friends. The one laying on the bed (and hardest to see) used this block.

Thanks for taking the time to do this for us, Judy.
As Judy said, this block was listed as Christmas Star but like most blocks has many names. There are variations of this traditional block that are also know as Morning Star, Rosebud, and Virginia, according to BlockBase. The block in #14 is Calgary Stampede, according to Judy Martin.

While researching this I saw a block that would be a lovely coordinating block. Its called Jack In The Box. I'm not feeling very well today but when I finish my block (hopefully tomorrow) I will try to make a Jack In the Box block to go with it, if anybody is interested.

Thanks Judy! Wonderful train and great block pattern. You and others helped with the suggestion of dark background and star.
