My HST square up ruler does not even go that small! The smallest size it will square them up to is 2 1/2." Going to sleep on this and see if I feel like it tomorrow...

Mary - I think you got it right -- had sticky buns on my mind and it glued up my thought process. Glad you aren't too upset with me! At least it could be corrected even if someone had made their blocks incorrectly, just another trim while you cursed me out. LOL

Paintmejudy: Thank you for the clarification. You are the BEST! I have only done a few of your mysteries but I have followed along with several others. You give so freely of your time to share these mysteries and are great at helping us when we have questions.

Sure Judy, blame it on the sticky buns! LOL Glad someone else makes mistakes occasionally. I worked on the BH mystery quilt this morning. Got one row finished with much unsewing involved and not all seams/points match up but that I can live with. Love those galloping horses!

ok I think this newbie is still a little confused!! is this correct? We are to make 48 HST when finished measures
    2 1/2 " then sew them to 48 2 1/2" light squares so that they end up 2 x 3 1/2 "

I am not getting emails when someone responds to the thread. So much has been posted in the past week that I just saw today. I must have something set wrong. I don't want to miss anything LOL

Tomara and Delphinia - make sure and go to my post #225 for corrections on cutting and making this unit. Sorry for the confusion. HSTs will be 2" square and sewn to a 2" light square. Yes, the unit will be 2 x 3.5"

Delphinia HST is a half square triangle.

Tomara & Delfina -- Don't panic. We were all new at one time. The HSTs and the squares you cut from the light fabric are to be 2". When you sew them both together you will end up with a 2 x 3-1/2" rectangle.

HST = half square triangle. Delfina, you made some of these when you made the square in the "Quilting Bee" forum.

For anyone using the 8 at a time method for HSTs, the starting square is 4-1/2". I cut mine 1/8th inch larger and ended up with perfect 2" squares and didn't have to trim.
