Can a solid cream be used in place of the neutrals? I don't have a selections of neutrals anymore. I used most of them...

I've got 96 neutrals cut, and 96 plus 48 non-neutrals cut. I did find my missing fat quarter neutrals. I knew I had 5-6 of them that I decided were too grey/green for the project I bought them for, but last weekend when I needed 132 different neutrals for a project, I could not find them.

The one place I did not look was the tote of scraps under the ironing board. No idea why I put the fat quarters in the scrap tote. Probably because I needed to get them off the cutting board some time last year and the tote was a convenient place to put them ( fast talk for "I was lazy" lol!)

I'm off to the grocery store to pick up a few things. Planning on making carrot cake, and found a recipe for Coconut Flan on the sweetened condensed milk label. I may try that too. I also have three cans of cherries (not pie filling) that I can't recall why I bought them. I remember going to the other grocery store specifically to get that brand - so I must have had something in mind at the time. . .

Cut all my squares so I'm gonna start sewing...I'll stop at 48 until she confirms.

Givio...I'm sure solid cream is fine. I'm using scraps of Tone on tone too in both white and cream, some cream has light florals etc.

Wow, coconut flan! That sounds like a recipe I'd like/want. I want to bake something sweet today, but I'm out of sugar. It's snowing, and I don't want to go to the grocery store on account of the weather.
I was looking back to this thread to see if there was an answer from Judy about the solid cream. I have plenty of other things to sew, actually! :-)

Here are my clue # 1 finished 4 patches. I had forgotten how challenging plaid can be to work with and gave up trying to make them perfect. Now I need to review how to spin those seams.

My bad. The photo was labeled wrong.

You need 48 4-patch blocks that measure 4.5", not 96. Bad Judy! 98 darks and 98 neutrals to make 48 blocks. Sorry for the confusion. I just got home a while ago, long long day, and feel terrible about my typo on the photo causing angst and anxiety for everyone

And yes, the 4-patch with all the colored blocks is correct in needing 48 2.5" squares.

Mea culpea, no excuses for this.

No sweat Judy....even if we made more then needed, we can always use 4P's lol!
    .. I stopped at 48 just in case, tho...lol!

My clue is done so I'll take pic tomorrow when better light. I cut way more 2 1/2 blocks then needed for this clue but I wanted to make sure I had a variety of fabric choices. If leftovers not used for this quilt, I'm collecting them anyway for a pattern I wanted to try in future.
