I pulled out a selection of small print florals with white background. I pulled all those with a lot of red/pink/orange. I really don't want to purchase any more fabric, and I have plenty of these for a lot of variety for the background.

whitepine- that's really pretty! Macybaby, a nice grouping of prints!
We're painting our livingroom so I doubt that I'll get much done. Geesh I'm so sore!!! Those muscles I used yesterday are screaming at me

Macybaby, Those are really pretty prints but are they going to contrast enough with your lights? I went back and found your fabric picture and wondered about that.

here are my other colors, I figured you might all be sick of looking at them since I've tried so many backgrounds already. lol!

I'm going to the store to see if I find something else I like better. I have a black with roses that is perfect, but I don't have near enough.

Whitepine -- that is Grand Illusion and was the only mystery quilt I actively hated. I had a hard time even finishing it. I think I did around 2/3rds the size.

Cathy - I'm so glad I'm not the only one who dithers about fabric choices then changes their mind four times. Welcome to my world! I like both the light blue and the scrappy pastels. I'll be interested to see what else you come up with.

This is my progress so far. Although it doesn't show in the pic, the dark has red in it. I cheated on the parallelogram units and did the strip method instead of HSTs. I can get 12 from a strip. There is wastage of the white but I have a whole bolt of Dream Cotton in white so decided to go with wastage of fabric instead of hours of time.

Cathy, this is a beautiful combination. Will be truly gorgeous. And I, like Angelia, love polka dots!

Macy, I'm glad you are still looking for background. I think your little florals would be lost in the shuffle. Have you thought of white tone on tone for the background? Contrast with the reds would be very nice.

Working away...making it bigger. This is on a par with some of Bonnie Hunter's quilts--around 700 HSTs!

Think I found a winner. Navy with a small subdued pattern. Will post pictures when I get home
Dh decided he wanted to get chicks so we had to pick up supplies. Have not had chickens for a few years and missed them.

It was my first and last BH quilt. Probably not a good one to start with. I should probably try another one sometime.
