i haven't really been following along with you all. made a jane with the lst batch, and i even chit chatted here and told you what size to cut the sashings between the blocks. and around the inside blocks. had it all written down. and now i am down to that on my 2nd jane, and do you think i can remember, or find where i put them? No, been half way looking for days. so if anyone knows off the top of their heads again. would you please tell me.? i still have 3 sides of my tri's to do.
i found where we were talking about it. and i told everyone to use l.5" sashings. and i do believe that is what i used in my first jane, with 4.5 " blocks. but the jane site says to cut 1" sashings. wonder why the lst ones worked so nice? any comments?

Hi, sewNso -- Good to hear from you! This thread's been really quiet the last few weeks, but we're still plugging away. Just finished Week 52. I used 1" sashings, finished at 1/2". I'm pretty sure that's the size in the original quilt.

Hi - OOOHHH sewNso your Jane is stunning - and now your nearly done with your 2nd !!!!
I love the look with the 1 1/2" sashing - and see the Tri's fitted in really well. What a wonderful achievement - have you ever entered "her" in a show / exhibition ?
I am going to a show here in the UK on Sunday and have prepped several Tri's and a couple of blocks - and I am demonstrating Reverse Applique. Looking forward to it - just hopeing we don't get the predicted snow in the next couple of days to prevent me from travelling (an hour away)
I agree katybob - very quiet here - where is everybody ?????

no, i haven't. my girls have been after me to enter her. they saw one hanging at a community center in saxapaha, n.c. and told me mine was ever bit as good (better) than that one. BUT WHEN I LOOK AT ALL YOUR BLOCKS LADY, I SAY 'MINE CAN'T LOOK AS CRISP AND SHARP AS THEIRS.

i have thought about the local fair, just to show her, etc. but haven't. maybe because i broke my shoulder the day i was embroid. the number of pieces on her in the tri. i hand quilted her, did you all know that? i was too impati. to do the pieces indiv, so when she was sandwiched, i just put her in an ole fashioned board roll up quilting frame with C-clamps on the corners, and sat her on my diningroom table, and worked on her for about 6 months. as i did other stuff. she IS quite heavy to lift, when you get done. and i used l strand of upholstry thread to quilt her with. but, ohhhhh I slept good under her as i was recovering from the broke shoulder.
i documented her progress in a thread. here on the board. jane top going together. you have to look at least on the 15th page of my posts to find it under the old jane heading. yes, later today, i'll show the new jane. has anyone posted pic's of all their blocks hanging on their design board, or etc? that's where mine are right now. put them up not too long ago. and i just put a sheet on top of her, when i have another project i want to pin up.

Katybob, SewNso, and Dotty. How will I know how/if the tris are going to fit if I just chose a size for the sashing? I'm using the size for the blocks that the DJ square ruler and DJ triangle are.

If your sashing is 1" wide (that's 1/2" finished) and the narrow border is 3/4" (that's 1/4" finished), you won't have a problem. I was really surprised at how nicely the triangles fit -- I was sure I was going to have trouble with them!
