Ok, you guys talked me into posting. I'm very disorganized and don't even have these labeled as to which blocks they are. I just forgot to do that.

I'm trying my hand at quilt as you go. Not sure I'm going to like it, but I think I'll persevere. If anyone else has started that please post pics for us to see. I did this part last night while watching Downton Abbey, not sure how long I worked (not long) on it before I put it down. It will give me some hand work. But I it's not going to be fast, that's for sure. I've only done one other QAYG project, and that did not stay together very well despite 1/4" echo quilting which I thought should be more than sufficient.

Monica, hope you are doing better by now. I have arthritis in my thoracic area so kinda know what you are going thru! Anyway, great blocks CindyA (love that orange fabric!) and everyone. Fromzstore to your finished quilt, way to go!! I can't imagine quilting that on my DM but maybe hand quilting will be my way. I have 2 more blocks done but I'm just beginning. Maybe post them tomorrow, BB games today.

Breath taking. Wonderful job. Just wondering did you keep a piece count?

Cindy - great blocks! thanks for posting again

I thought I would post another block [since the neurontin seems to be taking care of the pain!!!] I actually even have a little tutorial for those who may now... or eventually want some help on block M-1. If you look at M-1 you will notice that the white triangle points in the sketch don't exactly match up to the white squares. I reworked it just a little and my triangles did line up [almost] with the squares. I thought erring on the outside like a cap was preferred for me. First I measured everything in the sketch .... the inner squares finish 5/8" so need to be cut 1 1/8" - I cut a couple of long strips - 4 white squares requires at least 4 1/2" [cut it 5+] and cut the green/print 1 1/2" longer x 1 1/8" wide. Sew strips together. Then cut four sections 1 1/8" wide arrange the sections as shown add 5th green section to the white part of one section and complete the center 9-patch.

Next, to make the corner triangles, cut two 1 3/8" squares diagonally once to make four triangles. I decided to cut a very long 1 1/2" strip of green to sew to the straight sides of each white triangle [make sure you allow a little more than 1" beyond the diagonal side of the triangle to make sure you can continue the angle all the way to the other edge.]Trim the resulting 'setting triangle' down by lining up the 7/8" grid marks on you ruler to the sides of the white triangle.

line up the center of the triangles with the center of the squares and attach you 'setting triangles' to each side of the 9-patch.if you need to, you can pin the pieces together to make sure the triangle matches the square sides.

Now you have the center complete, trim it down to 3 1/4".
I have not shown pictures of the finishing because it is a simple log cabin type completion. Cut long 1" white/background strips and add strips around the sides of the square, "squaring up" after each addition. For you final border, cut 1 1/4" green strip and attach the same way. Trim to 5"

Have fun sewing
