Gladys...beautiful blocks. I really like the fabric you chose also.
Fraew...looks like I am right behind you on playing catch-up! :-) Had to laugh when I read your description on B-9..I too tried EPP on mine and machine stiched the corners. This is my very first attempt at EPP...I like it!
Jazs2 - glad you have gotten started..post pictures please!

@TymeToShine: super job on your blocks. Isn't EPP a great technique?!?
B9 - I basted the block pieces at night so that I could quickly put it together the next day. I pulled it out and my "brown" fabric looked green. I had no idea how this could be possible. I was so frustrated that I had "wasted" time so I tried a brown color pencil. It turned out as you see it in my pic...adequate. This morning, of course after I gave up on it, I found the real "brown" fabric for this block...same pattern and all. Ugh! Yes...redoing that block today hopefully.
BTW - great minds think alike!

Gladys - the blocks look terrific! I especially love your background color.
Gus - thanks for posting your blocks with pics as you go along. Being visual that really helps even without written instructions. I haven't had some of the messages you have but HAVE lost everything I'm trying to post after I hit 'post.' Very aggravating.
Everyone else - your blocks look great, I'm so impressed.
Is anyone using the Roxanne glue baste it? It's liquid glue with a super thin applicator for use with applique. I used it for the first time and the next day the glue wouldn't come out. Was I supposed to take off the applictor and clean it out and put the screw on lid back on the bottle? The applicator has a plastic cover to put on, so I thought I could leave it like than.
Also, what about the Bohin (spelliing?) pencil for marking? It was recommended on the tutorial Gus recently provided the link for. I've seen that brand at my lqs but haven't tried any of their products.
Well, my Spring Break is coming to a close and I did not take one single stitch! I brought work home, cleaned out some closets and rested a bit. Maybe next weekend I'll have something to post. Happy quilting friends.

Cindy this week is a DJ catch up week anyway sometimes getting those closets cleaned out gives you more of an incentive to sew! Bohin marking pencil is supposed to be wonderful. I picked one up for my friend when our LQS was having a big sale and she couldn't make it. I know several people who use them - I have a Fons & Porter marking pencil that is also like a mechanical pencil and looks almost identical. When it works - I usually love it. But I have to qualify that with - until I saw Bonnie's Bohin pencil. The F&P creates a 'drag' while you mark that the Bohin doesn't have. Also - I feel like returning my F&P with a complaint because for the second time I have a pencil that I can't keep the lead in. It keeps slipping down while I am marking with it.

I'm sorry, I can't help with your questions! This glue I want for my Appliqué for some time. But now the customs they closed and I can not do more shopping to their country. I will be attentive to the answers for you. To mark the fabric use school pencil, white wax mines to Seweline or the Pilot Frixion if it leaves no marks on the fabric (you should try first!).
And it is good that he could rest! It is always necessary to do so and enjoy the family!
You have a good week! A hug!

B-11 Melissa's Cross
Guess I could not go back to work without finishing at least one block. I had the applique completed before my unplanned hiatus and woke up early enough this morning to finish the block. I did not realize how far I'd let myself fall behind. I hope to have some more time tonight to start the next block.

I love looking at all the blocks so far. I petered out after doing Row A and B. I started before the date. Then when we all started, I just coasted along thinking how cheeky I was to already have a lot done. LOL. But I am glad that I did because I haven't been able to post or work on it because i am in Australia and won't be home untill May. No access to a sewing machine or a way to post pictures. So everything is on hold until I come home. although not everything is on hold. Buying fabric down here has been fun. They are called Patchwork shops or Haberdashy shops. The Haberdashy have lots of other fun things to look at besides material. The shops are very tiny compared to the USA> It is pricey to buy material......$20 dollars up per meter. A meter is about 3 inches longer then a yard.
I wanted to find the fabric with the babuska dolls on it as I saw it somewhere on someone's quilt here on the board and I finally had to order it from Sydney. I can't wait to get it. I will continue to look at all the fine work everyone is doing on Dear Jane and will reconnect with mine when I return.
