Keep plugging away carriem, I thought I would never finish it. The top came together easily as a king size, then I ripped it down to queen size y removing a row, but there was still a mental block on it. I kept trying to make it special and it already was. When I saw Lyn Hut's (which I loved) I just knew I had to get moving on it.

Thanks toverly for you comments I still have to do my edging, I have not sewn all year with moving and renovating I am dying to get back it but still haven't worked out where to start with a new quilt.
And for anyone else that are still trying to get this quilt finish stick at it.

I worked on mine some over the weekend. I have decided to just do 2 twin-sized quilted with 12 stars on point and then alternating blocks. I have 6 more nocks to make to get to 24. I love the stars, but really want to have these finished, so decided not to do several stars.

Jan--here are some pics of the latest ideas for layouts The purple cornered blocks will alternate with a green leafy print w/metallic gold. The blue I tried a couple different layouts but am going with the butterfly block divided by the "diamond" fabric. Both will have black setting triangles and butterfly borders...

Wow, wow, wow!! Those look fabulous with those solid blocks between them. They're busy blocks and your layout "tames" them and pulls them all together. They are going to be beautiful. Absolutely my favorite colors. Can't wait to see them finished. Awesome, Carrie.

    Hi all,
    I have a question please?
I have made 12 x 9" stars and now want to make them into a wall hanging. All of the stars have a black background - and I would like to put black sashing between the blocks and will then add a border. Do you think coloured corner stones on all blocks would look nice and maybe a few flying geese leading into the corners in the borders. I think 1" sashing, 1" corner stones and a 4 1/2 " border ( this size because the blocks are 9" and 41/2 " is half the width of the blocks )with the geese. I would appreciate any tips and thank you !

Sounds lovely to me. black on black will allow the stars to float on the quilt while the corner stones are likely to give points of color radiating off of the stars. Can't wait to see it!

At last I have finished assembling the 12 blocks together which are 9 inch squares and thought you might like to see it. I had a friend quilt it on her long arm machine and I am thrilled to bits with it.
