I am ahead on the blocks but this is one that I "skipped". I will make it this week. I love that it looks like a cross!! Very meaningful to me.

Good Morning Y'all! Love the stars! I thought this pattern was going to be difficult but it ended up so much easier than all those palm frond looking ones. At least that's the way it seemed to me. I started preselecting and precutting the fabrics because of the turmoil created from using scrappy. It totally tears up my batik organization and my sewing room. But I also realized if I stacked fabrics to use in a star, I didn't reuse them, so I can go thru most of my stash with few repeats. There have only been a few that I haven't been able to figure out once I start sewing. I guess I'm in a cutting mood lately. I also have been cutting scraps into 2 1/2, 2, and 1 1/2 squares. Those are in giant ziplocs. I'm off at 10 to take my father in law to a doctor appointment. I have come to realize if you see a retired person out and about chances are they are headed to the doctor, he has at least 2 a week and sometimes 3. Have a great day!

Well, since I'm so far behind, I decided to just pick another one and do it. These blocks take hours and hours to do but they are so rewarding when they are done. Here's my second finished star....Alaska. Not sure I'm happy with the fabric choice but at least it's finished! Now to choose another one to work on....LOL

Love those colors, JanRN. they inter-react together so well. Love to see all the beautiful stars that have been made on the site....my eye is not good enough to do the starts yet....hoping in another month I can start up again... although it is not today for sure. Vision is very spotty today. Did do some ripping this morning, but not sure about this afternoon...seems worse than this morning. Had to take a pain pill last night because of the pain of a floating rib out of place, and that seems to relax the muscles of the eye and not 'focus' as well. This too shall pass, I just have to be patient.
