Woo hoo Karen, thought you might be MIA for this ride, so glad you are moved and settled. And do I see Mystery #16 (or another #?) as your avatar?

'Craftyjulz - no idea why you got that message. I don't think the number is the problem. Did you resize to make it a maximum of 640 pixels in the longest side of the pix? Send a PM to one of the moderators.

We'll be leaving in a week for our winter house Judy so will have to catch up with the train then. I will find it on the tracks somewhere

Question Here’s my ideas again, trying with pictures.

I’m going to try posting with pictures again. First picture I was considering using just those 3 fabrics (purple tone on tone, blue w/floral, & teal dragonfly) for the quilt (ignore the scraps for now) but I think you mentioned I’d need another so I need your guidance there. The one with the flower print I don’t mind if the print itself won’t really show, I just like all the colors in it, but if you think I should choose another fabric please stear me to what you think would be best. I like lots of color in my quilts if you can’t tell.
What I’d really like to do though is use the scraps & the purple fabric with some other yardage or especially split the mid tone teals & greens from the darker blues, teals, & purples & use the purple tone on tone as the 3rd fabric “background” (see the last picture). I can find in my stash or buy 3 or 4 more dark tones in small increments if I you don’t think I have enough. This last layout is where my heart is pulling me now anyways (the teals/greens & the dark tone blues/teals/purple with the purple yardage), but I don’t know the quilt layout & you do. What do you think?

This set with another bit of yardage? Or would that be weird having just one bit scrappy with the other 2 or 3 out of yardage?

This is my favorite of the ideas.

You're right Judy. My avatar is from Mystery #16. I love that pattern.
Hi Mary! It feels good to get back into the swing of things. I really missed it.

Love that quilt in your avatar klaws. Pretty colors. This is my first time trying a train. I did one mystery quilt at a shop years ago that came out cute & I’m really excited, but nervous to try again. I’m OCD, truly, so it’s going to be interesting to not have this planned & replanned to the max from the start.
Oh, and I like your signature especially. See my avatar? Fabricaholics unite! I think that pretty much describes most quilters anyways. Lol

The pink we both used is pretty close! Great minds running along the same track?

Craftyjulz - you are overthinking this, I think. I am going to send you a PM,

CraftyJulz Ok, this is my suggestion. Lose the pink for right now, maybe for ever. It will be too jarring with those colors. You need something more restful.

I like all your colors. I think that if it were me, I would use the middle photo with the greens, golds and blues and all in that pile, they all go together so well. And these fabrics will be used on Saturday for clue 2 and for clue 3 along with a neutral, either yardage or scrappy.

A third color will be brought in at the end. You might or might not at that point think you are still in love with the pink and may use that, or go with another fabric, scrappy or yardage. Me, I think I would go with something else. Even a darker purple would be better.

hope this helps you, CraftyJulz, and anyone else a bit confused at this point.
