Here is my Florida block. I am a little disappointed by the lack of contrast between the points and the background, but I like it anyway and will not be redoing it! I may highlight the points when free motion quilting the finished quilt.

I posted a while back that at first I thought this project would be too daunting for me since I had never paper pieced. Boy was I wrong after testing out the PP with these three state stars, Ohio, Kansas, and Delaware. Well, I didn't have enough of the same fabrics to continue the look with all 50 stars; plus it would look monotonous if all the stars were just these fabrics. So, I took the stars to make this quilt. Now that I have it done, I can focus on the rest of the stars. Now I'm thinking, do I want to use remaining stars that I make in just one quilt or should I do something similar like this quilt by using groups of either 3, 5, or 7 stars in a number of quilts.

You have a lovely quilt. I love the way those stars just jump out!

Thats right, it all gets fixed in the quilting, lol. A pretty block, like the contrast in the "flowers".

Here's Florida. You know, I didn't even notice, until starting to sew the eight sections together, that the fans reversed directions. I thought I had done something major wrong. Also, the first nine. I said I was going to name my quilt, and I'm going to call it Turquoise Sky. Turquoise won't be in every block, but in most.
