50 Fab Paper-Pieced Stars
#2251
Florence, I love all your stars together. Some of them show up so differently with all of them together. I like the way you did Michigan, which I hadn't noticed before. I think I'll try that with Oklahoma, which I haven't done yet. One thing I have done, is open the picture in Paint, and then draw in different colored lines. It's a pretty rough technique, but might rule out some ideas. I did a couple of colors so you can see what I mean, but you can use the 'edit color' to get different shades.

I haven't sewn stars in a while, but I still follow to see how everyone is doing. They are all so pretty. Nickylsf-I really like your stars with the sashing, and I like keeping them in alphabetical order. Whatever you decide you sure will have a beautiful quilt.

Meanmom, I'm glad your camera finally decided to start working. So frustrating when you can't figure out whats going on. But your stars are beautiful. My favorite of that bunch is New York.
Nicky, that is a really neat program. What is it anyway? I think I like the sashing best too, because it lets each star be a focus. I also like the craziness without the sashing....dancing with the stars??

Sue, it is quilting software called Quilt Pro. It exists for Mac or Windows. You can use it to design blocks or quilts, or to create paper pieced patterns or traditionally pieced templates. You can audition fabrics with it, and import your photos, in my case, of completed blocks. See their website at www.quiltpro.com. They also have sales periodically. They are the same folks who make the free standing Foundation Factory programs and CDs.
Here is my Rhode Island block. I am caught up for now! I think I will start on NC with its 120 pieces, so I can stay caught up! I am also getting ready to piece the backing for my OBW quilt. Pics of that soon on the pics page...
