Just off the sewing machine and it's done...except for the longarm. Here's what I did with my purple and turquoise batiks. I more I look at it, the more I like it.

LOL, Lynnie, playgrounds at city parks are convenient when you need some way to hold the corners.

Loving all the pretties!

I'm definitely learning things with doing mine QAYG. Have all the individual blocks quilted and now adding sashing between blocks.

It would have been better if I had cut my fleece at 16"-17" square for the outer edge squares instead of 15" square, which is fine for inside blocks but there are only 2 of them. So now I'm having to add a narrow strip to accommodate the sashing all around.
Or else I should have added the sashing to two or three sides of the blocks (depending on position in quilt) to start with. Think I will do it that way next time.

One thing for sure, this is ultimately easier than trying to quilt the whole thing at once. Wish I had done this with all my tops that are currently UFOs!

Jaba, love the quilt, it sparkles.

M-fay, love your strippy backing. great idea.

Mom, when I do hand quilting which is all the time. I do rows, quicker and easier, I put my setting strips in between and quilt a row at a time, or 2 rows at a time. goes together quickly, then quilt it and then sew them tog, trim the batting and then stitch them together. I do rows now used to do blocks, just seems easier that way for me.

Wonderful finishes...especially love the purples/blues batik. Marion, you are ambitious with those scraps for the back! Good way to use them up!!! Still working on my sashings, among other things...so it's taking me longer than I thought it would. Hope to have finished within a few days.
