I really like your sashing, but we still have another clue and some 2 1/2" pieces that will go somewhere. The Mystery continues...

Oh Moonrise, love it! It's got movement. Love it with the red too!

Judy, She sold her house in Yakima just before Christmas & is in the process of moving over to the Port Orchard area near her daughter. I haven't talked to her in a couple of weeks, but I should hear from her soon.

I'm almost done with clue #3. I've got one set finished, just about done with the second one. I, too, had to go stash diving, as I didn't have scrap big enough for the dark corners. Came up with cloth I didn't even know I had! I'm thinking this must be my year of the scrappy with all the quilts I've done. Grand Illusion, scrappy log cabin, 2 of these & a baby quilt all from places deep in my stash. After this clue, I had to once again cut some pieces down to usable size, so my scraps are growing again! Going to have to come up with something from charms to whittle that bin down next.

Quilt #2. I decided to go with black/gray to make the colors pop.

I couldn't figure out why I had all these different size triangles left over after each clue. I read the instructions and sewed them correctly. Oh well, guess we are cutting ahead for future clues. I don't think this is going to be as big as she said it was going to be. Why are people showing their blocks with 12 blocks. Oh well, some people said they were doubling their blocks. That must be it. Wow, did everyone double their blocks. Re-read first clue. lmao I only cut 24 3 1/2" squares instead of 24 of each. So, I went back and cut 24 more squares and will work on making the other 6 blocks. It will go faster since the triangles are already cut and I know what I'm doing this time. Still laughing. What would life be without a little entertainment?lol
    Moonrise - love the colors!

dd. very funny. Glad I'm not the only one who does this kind of thing. Love the scrappy and controlled looks.

I'm finished with mine so far. My blocks also came out to be 9". The very first one I trimmed to 8 1/2" and ended losing all of my points. All the rest I left at 9" with a 7 1/2" triangle. They came out perfect. I'll post a picture later. Thanks Judy. This was fun. I'm still not sure whether I'm going to like it or not. I will have to wait and see when it is finished. I might just give it to my hairdresser. She loves scrappy quilts.

Here's my first set, I'm making another in cool tones with a pop of coral. The colors are really more subdued than what this picture shows, more like civil war repro colors.

I love everything I've seen so far. I managed to find 24 different prints for the large triangles, but after seeing the controlled ones, am dithering back and forth. I like the looks of both ways. BTW, I'm a 9" gal also.

I really like the look of the blocks put together as is. I just might have to do another one and stop at this step. The play between light and dark is really striking.
