The flower for March is the daffodil. Get yourself a bunch at the grocery!

Sunlitten -- the elevators went all the way to our sewing rooms, only not every elevator went down that far, so there was a lot of walking the length of the ship. I think this was in 2008 and I had both knees replaced in 2013, so my knees were not great for the trip, either.

It has slots for marking the cutting line when placed on a square from corner to corner and then you draw a line on either side so that in one placement you mark your 3 Lines for sewing and cutting HSTs. There was no doub about where to sew and cut. Easier on my eyes ( that are getting wonky these days) than having to move and adjust a small ruler. Just an idea....
I have one of those. I have found that you should really sew a "scant" quarter inch seam with it.

I thought the first flowers thru the ice and snow were the crocus. I have never lived in the snow, so must have read that somewhere.

I have one but I use it to mark squares for snowballing.....I like that you can press down on the center bar and mark with the pencil from the center out....keeps the square from distorting (although I may be insane using 1 1/2 squares for snowballing).

Dotty, are Daffodils safe for cats? Don't know if they are toxic or not. she likes to chew on things.
(sometimes, she bites her nails too.) I love it when the crocus pop out of the snow. such a pretty sight.

    More pretty blocks showing up!

And Texas bipolar weather is at it again. Was crazy cold and windy (upper 30s) last weekend, then 70s yesterday and today, and due to be 40s again for the high tomorrow. Hope it goes ahead and warms up again for this weekend.

Yep, this little tool is one of the first "gadgets" I got when I started quilting. Love it! I don't mark in the middle slot (really not necessary) and sew inside the marked sewing lines to get HSTs the size needed.
