What size quilt are you making, Candace, and what layout?

I am doing my quilt with 10" blocks set on point. It will end up being approximately 92 x 106 - or if I use sashing between the blocks it will end up about 96 x 111. EQ tells me that for the blocks, setting triangles and the large border which I think I will make 8", I will need 7-1/2 yards of fabric. Lesley had suggested early on 9 yards for good measure. I am not sure how accurate EQ is for yardage, so I bought the 9 yards that Lesley suggested and it appears I will have more than enough.

Here's the link to Patti's trapunto tutorial:

She has very good instructions on how to do it.

I've found that EQ is normally very generous in the fabric estimates, so you should be fine.

what a shopping trip! I'm not sure if my monitor is showing the right color...is that a rust type color with your b/w's? How are you planning on doing your color layout? (So your DH thinks that "real" men don't do Pink???) LOL!

Candace, I love your variety of black and white fabrics - that will make a wonderful quilt - my favorites are always blk/wht combo's - I can barely wait to see your blocks.
