Didn't even get to the piece they were supposed top cover. I have no idea why they were the wrong size. This was after I had done all those teeny-tiny long tapered points & just wanted to get this finished!!! I threw away the wrong size scrolls. Don't need them for anything else & it was trash night. I just wasn't able to lay them on the block for comparison so you all could see the problem.

I have found that I don't mind the scrolls at all - it's those long tapered pieces where there is very little room to cram in the seam allowance.
wow, kathy...you mastered that old bugger, but thanks for the heads up...I'll start scheming ways to hmmm, fudge on this one?
    I'm slow enough as is.
I know this is a learning process, but so busy in everyday life, don't have THAT much time ;)

oh my...I am too old for this and that, and too young to see my babies suffer! I too, hope they get her feeling well, very soon.
She did eat some soup yesterday and it did run through, but she said it didnt hurt.
Small consolation, as she is on strong painkillers.

Well I'm being a bad wifey today and not visiting DH in hospital.

The reason being I do have to do stuff like food shopping and washing and checking in at work, but perhaps I might get a bit of work done on my next AOTH block as well.

    Fingers crossed.

I think #13 is also going to get into the same category!!! I beefed up the center 4 crescents, but didn't think about doing the same to the 8 scrolls' ends. I am just about ready to start it. Am finishing up the embroidery on #12.

When DH was in hospital for 6 weeks, I didn't spend every minute at his side, either. I had a dog to tend to & a job to go to. Besides, he was over in Texas & we live in New Mexico. After he was out of the woods, I went over every Wednesday & one of the weekend days - that was all. Once he got into the rehab hospital, they kept him so busy that even if I had been there, I wouldn't have seen much of him. They gave him a break while I visited. I would leave here so that the time I arrived there, I could hit the Chinese buffet & bring him a lunch he would eat. While in the Heart Hospital, the food was so bland, he didn't eat much. His Drs. were concerned as he lost so much weight is such a short time, so I was bringing in outside food. Then I got smart & bought him a salt shaker - that was all that was missing. The food was good - just needed salt to enhance the flavor. You'd think that at $10,000 a day, the food would have flavor!

When does DH get to come home?
