Black would be affected by dye lots much like any other color. Wallpapers/carpets/fabric- anything that is dyed, especially natural fibers will take dye differently.

They dont have photos of the 2011 winners, but they do of 2010.
the blue ribbon winner for applique 2011 with "Hearts Galore" is Charlotte Schoonover.
she won best in show last year with "a Thousand and One Berries?" quite a spectacular quilt!!!

Wow... that Berry quilt is something isn't it???

I think Judy is laying her quilt out like this...if memory serves me...I could be wrong and it seems that Elle did her outer scrolls like this one. Could be wrong about that one too...but it looks great! You can't see any variance in the blacks in this pic...She used only 32 of the blocks...without looking at the book..I think she omitted the 4 corner blocks??? I just love to see these completed quilts!!

Thanks for posting these links Candance.

Okey Dokey - Sunday begins Week #16 & you know what that means, don't you? If you are following the schedule, you will have finished all the blocks for the center unit. We wrap up the center unit by making Block #28 as seen below.

    Happy Stitching!

That's OK, Luv. You'll get them done eventually. I've hit several slumps & have overcome all of them. Today, I was really on a roll & I got about 3/4 of the hearts for the big border basted. I have cut out 32 hearts. but I don't know how many I'll actually need until I can lay them out & decide how they are going to fit together.
