Hi Elle, how is it going over in your country today? It is amazing that on this particular thread there is such a vast array of international representations. Leave it to quilters to get together, even if they are spread all over the world! :-D

It is cloudy, icy windy and fixin' to slightly snow here. Of course, here in the desert we are actually really ready for spring not more winter. LOL :-D Time to go put laundry in the washer. Oh housework! Why can't it do itself???

Hi there, Well we have had a very sunny Spain today, around 68 Degs. I sat out in the local village square with my friends today and enjoyed a Tapa and coffee. It is winter here by the way but the only snow I have seen is on top of some very high mountains which surround where I live. We have had some really bad rainy days but the weather seems to be breaking now. I do feel for you if its cold over there. Keep warm and snuggly

    Elle

There is a portion of the state of Washington that is desert. We are in the Tri-Cities area. We don't get a lot of rain or snow. Mostly we watch the cloud fronts float over us from the west coast, over the Cascade Mountain range on its way to Montana's Rocky Mountain Range where it dumps. Guess that's what makes us desert. :-D

Well I never knew that, not only do you learn new ways to sew here you learn a whole lot about other countries. Getting late here, well 10.30 but got to take the three dogs for a walk and relax for an hour before I go to bed.

    Nite see ya tomorrow

Interesting tutorial, SewExtreme. All of it made sense. I know one video I watched used a couple tiny drops of basting glue to hold the fabric in place and needleturn to the traced line. Soooo much to learn.

Linda, is where you live considered the High Desert?

I woke to sleet again today, but it had stopped by the time I wanted to leave. Actually the ground around me was clear, just the auto was ice covered. And the bridges and overpasses were really bad. There were lots of highways closed when people hit black ice, and spun out of control. There were accidents with 15 and 20 cars and trucks involved early this morning. It warmed up to 43, so the ice is gone, but it was not a nice for lots of people on their way to work this morning. I only have about a mile to go and no bridges, so I lucked out.

Sharon, I have only been here for six years and have not heard that term before. I think we are not high desert though. I met my DH online and when we were married I moved to the desert. I love it here, though I miss my GKs terribly. :-D :-(

We, at times, have had ice roads for days and we usually stay home since we are retired and have a choice.

Well if you want world wide weather reports, we had rain this morning, and sunshine this afternoon, max temp was 12C (converts to 54F) but I have snowdrops and crocuses flowering, and baby daffodils will be opening soon. This is early for them, but our winter started about a month earlier than usual, so I guess that has fooled them.
