    LOL

I've only done the first two.... the first one I sewed today, the second one is only ironed, I've still got to sew around all the bits. So not doing that well! ;-)

Basting them? Don't you just iron them?

Kathryn, see you baste your pieces. Saw a video on Quilt show and they showed using a glue stick to paste the 1/4" seam allowance down, then sew fast and easy just clip round any of your curves. They said it washes out when you do eventually wash your quilt. Canīt have you being stressed now, you might tear Hanīs head off. LOL

Ah ha! Yes I do iron the freezer paper to the wrong side and did used to then just needle turn as I went BUT a lady at my quilt group showed me how to then baste the seam allowance down before sewing them on. A bit more work, but the sewing goes much quicker AND my points and curves etc are much more precise. I also baste the shapes to the background instead of pinning if they're small or intricate as they lay flatter then!

Blue Chicken think she does but then she bastes down the seam allowance, read my tip above for a quicker way. Think K is doing needle turn. Right K ?

Hey I might try that - just a regular glue stick, like Pritt?

If you reverse the freezer paper, you can iron down your seam, instead of basting it. It takes longer with the iron but if press them down nicely you get smooth curves and nice straight lines.

Oh so many hints and tips! I'll try both ways but Hans might not be too pleased with your way Blue as he spent some time reversing all the templates for me before I printed them out!

    LOL

I use several different methods... I love that ironing the seam allowance under one, it makes it so easy to sew and the curves are great. But I find it too difficult on fiddly little bits, so I put the freezer paper on top for those and use a toothpick to turn the seam under. If you keep a toothpick in your mouth, use the wet end to turn under the fabric, it grabs better than a needle.
