I am anxious to start this today. Picking my colors now. I started off doing browns, greens and pinks, and keep getting off track. I'll have to make several BOM quilts before I am done. Thanks for this new challenge. I love the pattern.

Hi, Norah, I'm really lookin' forward to more Honey Bees! It's been a favorite block of mine for a long time. I don't know if you have noticed, but there is a sort of 3-D effect that happens when the bees match the outside corners of the inner 9-patch. Something to consider in your design process?

You can almost see it in this one (the wings are shaped differently in this one too):

A 12-inch block from a reproduction sampler our family "guild" made for our Aunt Mildred last year.

Hi girls, your blocks are great. This is my attempt. I was not going to do it because of the applique, but then thought I would try it. Oh boy, what a job. I tried needle turn on one wing and gave up. Then I decided to just do it by machine. I will try needle turn some other year.

Patrice; my sister found some wild kittens, she caught them, tamed them and brought me a replacement for Bob. This new kitten is an exact replica of your avitar kitten (and Bob) I think he's still about the same size as the one in your pict. & at the moment is sitting on my neck purring in my ear.

Marcella < Love the new block! Haven't done either of these last two but, plan to get to it as soon as my garden is firmly established.

One of my dearly departed cats used to sit on my head whenever I sat still for more than a few minutes. at night, she'd want to either curl up to sleep on my face or make a nest in my hair! and imagine waking up to find a kitten standing on your face, staring down at you between her legs! when she got too big for that, she'd drape herself over my shoulder or around my neck.

Furball had been a stray and never really got over the psychological need to "hunt" for food. she'd steal food right off my plate if i wasn't fast enough to stop her. i was eating ribs one time. picked up a rib and there she was - dangling off the other end. the rib was bigger than she was but she was determined to have it for herself. (i was bigger than both of them, so i won, but it was a rumble, i can tell you. LOL)

Hmmm ... I've always thought of the avatar kitty as a girl, but we can name her Bob, too, if you like.

That's great! I love the visual of a kitten dangling off the end of the Rib. definately a ROFLMAO. I'm touched that you would name your avitar after Bob. And I'm calling the new kitten Marley.
