This block has fought me every stich of the way. If I never see it again I won't cry. I have determined I lost the battle. Heres what won by a knock out

I always knew there was a reason I never did pp.

Feathers pull your block out it can't be anywhere as bad as the one I posted. It will go in my quilt called screw ups. I have almost enough for a king size now. May have to start another quilt

ceanna, you did much better than you think you did. the star itself is really, really well done. nearly perfect. i looked and looked and looked but couldn't find even one teeny tiny boo-boo in it. the rest also looks as good as some of the work i've seen for SALE.

any time you have to match seams, no matter which method you use, it gets a bit tricky. even in a simple checkerboard pattern. i don't think i've ever seen a quilt in which ever single seam and point connected perfectly.

if you pressed it flat and added some oversized triangles, then squared it off it would look very nice in a quilt of not-screw-ups. or fuse it to something. either way, it'll do you proud.

BUT if you didn't have fun working on it then you are absolutely right to just move on. i haven't tried paper piecing that block, so i'm not going to say whether i think it's easy or difficult. the bottom line is if you don't enjoy paper piecing, then don't do it. there are too many things in life we have to do and put up with whether we want to or not. quilting should feel good. so do what you like and skip what you don't.

You could also use it in the middle of a grandmothers flower garden as a medallion. It is a good job! Go for it!

That is... the most interesting quilt block I have ever seen.

And you have nothing to be ashamed about. You could design a whole quilt around that concept. Nice colors.

Please explain the concept of the non-square edges. Like.. how did you do them and how can we incorporate that into a cahrazy quilt pattern.

In most circles, you would be known as..."the artist".

    take care,

tim in san jose (no, you haven't seen my PP either)

Patrice, you are so right, if I had realized before I started that this block had Y seams, I never would have attempted it. Well anyway I couldn't stop once I started so here is my block. I put the pic on the wrong page again.

Have you realized yet that I am a slow learner. lol
