Great minds think alike, JM

i'm glad you didn't know about the y-seams. if you hadn't tried the block, you wouldn't have something to post that shows how GREAT a job you do with them.

now we each know where to go if we run out of something. ;-)

All of these are better than mine, which you notice are conspicuously missing. I am trying!! I am learning this method along with the rest of you, and now I know why my teachers said I was a slow learner, maybe that was a non-learner. Anyway, I'm still fighting points and I am giving up on perfection. Heck, I am giving up on close enough. I think you've all done GREAT!!! :D

Norah, "Perfection" is interpretive... Imperfect by one set of standards is Art by another. Don't beat yourself up; you must not forget this is supposed to be fun. If you can't get points, put a sequin where they (points) are supposed to be, & no one will know they're not actually back there. Then, just practice until they actually show up... or become the "Embellishing Queen"; either way is fine with us!!! :D (We're all easily distracted by pretty colors and shiny objects..)

    too true, too true. LOL

and ... i'll point out again [pun intended] that real roses do not have pointy petals, so there's another reason to not care or worry about it.

new question: anybody get close enough to a real star to find out whether THEY have perfect points? and live to tell about it? I didn't think so.

someday we'll get the points. or be working at the big quilting frame in the sky. one of the two will come first and we don't know which.

don't sweat the small stuff today. keep trying until it stops being fun, then learn to love what you have until the next time you feel like trying again. :-)
