Look at all the neat Drunkard's Path arrangements, none of which I did:

Steve, your Drunkard's Path is gorgeous. You're right, there are lots of ways to position those pieces and all are lovely. Thanks for sharing...I like the orange!

    Thanks Feathers!

I finished framing it in a deep red and backing in black, which I will turn for binding, the colors worked wonderfully together. Still I have no idea on the quilting pattern, though maybe just shadow it below and or above the circles? Any suggestions are most welcome.

Well, I thought that as well and got real frustrated trying this on the machine. I think it was actually a combination of machine and small size that made it difficult. Once I got a larger template and did it by hand (blocks) the whole process went a lot easier. Quite truthfully I was surprised when they went together so well. This was my precursor to the New York Beauties since it involved curves.

I’ve been going less than a year and true I’m quite stubborn at times, but the point is if you want something bad enough, you’ll find a way. I’d still like to get the machine piecing down on this one, just to say I can; and I 'know' that that's an eventuality.

Give it a go. If nothing else there are a lot of nice folks here to help and you’ll get to chat with ‘em a bit.

Got the quilt framed, sandwiched, and basted, but a cold is getting the better part of me so think I'll forgo the quilting till I'm better.

I picked up a couple of tools at the quilting show, which are supposed to make it easier to quilt. Items called 'Aunt Becky's Finger Protector' and a 'Raised-Edge Thimble'. The saleswomen also sold me a disc demonstrating how she uses a loose quilt in the frame with about 2 or 3 inches give in it with these tools. I guess they use to use teaspoons in the old days to do the same thing and I can't wait to try, she had such even stitches front and back. Just need to rest and recoup for now though, darn.

Good luck with your Aunt Becky's ......I can use it with staight lines....BUT.....find it awkward with curves. It just looked so wonderful when she was doing the demo

I noticed she was doing straight lines in the demo, but also saw the echo quilted Hawaiian she'd used it on, so it must be possible. Then too she looked also like she had years of practice in!

Hey Steve, saw this on sale today on a web site where I get the girls coloring books. I had noooo idea they had quilting books there too. I thought the block placements on the cover were kinda cool like yours.
