I would also like to try a 1020 block of the month. Thank you.

in 2009 there are/were 3 Blocks of the Month (BsOM).
-1st of each month (moderated by PatriceJ): randomly selected with no particular theme
-15th of each month (moderated by Shadow Dancer): selections from blocks related somehow to the Pioneer era of US history
-21st of each month (moderated by Shadow Dancer): free (for a limited time for each block) Baltimore album BsOM available from a specific website.

except for the BsOM on the 1st of each month, plans for 2010 are not firm.

-1st of each month: theme will be pieced flower blocks.
that is, blocks named for flowers, or that resemble flowers (although they don't have to look exactly like any particular real flower).
block patterns can be either traditionally pieced or paper pieced.
block patterns must be available free and unrestricted to the general public. they should not require registration at another site or be scheduled to disappear into a "pay for it" inventory.

i'm looking for volunteers to sign up to select blocks for us. the January slot is filled, but the others are still open. (my pm inbox is a bit of a disaster. if you previously volunteered, please send me a new pm so i can "get it back together".)

    no, no, no, no, no.

Sulabug, who is on the list to select a block for us on the 1st of January 2010, will post the announcement of her choice, along with a link to free directions. Then she, or whoever finishes their block first, will start a second thread that we'll all use to add pictures of our blocks.

THERE IS NO DEADLINE to have any of the blocks made.
there is no requirement to post pictures of any blocks you make. we do it for fun and mutual encouragement.

Please check the beginning of this post for a complete explanation of the way it works.
