The do NOT get easier..I'm stuck on Week 5...still finishing the triangle on week 4, and going into 5...applique is coming and I'm a bit intimidated. The triangle is a bear, and I'm waiting to see what the tutes look like before I go any further and get totally exasperated. I will prevail though and won't let a little advanced work get me down!!

You got that right Rachel! RS6 is something else!! I'm waiting for Kelly's tute too. I'm not going to let them beat me though! If it was,nt for this group of people doing the blocks, I'm sure they would get the best of me.

Yes, and I was trying to read thru That Quilt's blog and am still confused. The pages are printed (which is a nice thing about using a blog for assistance, you can print the pages out and look at them wherever you'd like to) and ready to go when the tutes come out. I'll use the tutes, and look over at the blog from That Quilt and see if I can figure it out!

On some of the applique blocks Iv'e been fusing them and using a decorative stitch to sew them on with. I hope that isn't wrong but it looks ok to me. I use your tute Blue for the circles. On the pointed ones I can't get them real sharp looking so that's why I'm fusing them.

I like applique and look forward to increasing my skills with this project. Right now, I'm a real beginner with applique so I'm just going to allow myself to grow. I really want to learn to do the reverse applique, and then I noticed that there is a method using foil in a book I got today called "material obsession." It's written by a couple of gals that have a shop in Australia of the same name. Pretty quilts, and in interesting method. I didn't read it too carefully, but will try to figure it out in the weeks ahead. If anyone is familiar with it, I'm sure we'd all love to see more of how to do it!

It doesn't matter what technique you use, they're your blocks you can do them however you want. :-)
I do needleturn because i love the effect and enjoy doing it. I know some of my points won't be perfectly pointy, but I can live with them. :-)

Great job on your blocks bzang. I love the dark green one.
Shemjo - Great blocks. I love the one with all the colors! It looks like fireworks and since my anniversary is on the Fourth of July, you should send it to me. ;)
ai - I love your batik blocks.
esqmommy - You're on week 5!?! Wow!
Blue - I'm with you, I just love needleturn applique.
I've decided to wait until my #%^!$ background fabric comes in before doing anymore blocks. I don't want to have to redo too many. I just hope it hurries!
