pbadder...just remember your measurements as this 6" row will not fit your center unless you do a filler to bring your center to something divisible by 6. Do you have any of the purple fabric left that you could incorporate into a 2" all round border?

I have a little purple left don't know if it would be enough to go all around with a 2" strip.

I like this border, I wonder if we can use that Exploding block from Missouri Quilt for this one. It looks similar.

Have a solution for you if you like this idea....Make 3 blocks, then add an inch border to each side of the middle block and then add 3 more blocks. That 1" is finished size because you have to make up that 2 inch difference. Think it would look great with the purple. Lay it out and see what it looks like you may like it.

Is this what you meant. I re measured the quilt it was closer to 45" x 45". Where the green is would be my purple. The two green ones on the end I cut 1 1/2" and the center one would be 4" so I cut that one 4 1/2".

I haven't tried but I might be able to use 7 blocks instead of the purple. Will make another block and lay it against the border and see what happens. Sewing don't happen till I'm sure that's what we want on the border.

Okay I made another block and laid it out. I only had to add a 1" strip in the center of the two. Still not too sure of color choice for border though

How would it look to have a strip of the black in the middle?

Maybe I need to try a smaller border I do like this one not too sure about little strip of course it would be purple. I could probably try to trim 1/4" of each side and than won't have to add strip. Don't know have to study it awhile. Or maybe add a strip of some color around first than put this one on. Don't have enough of my purple though any suggestions as to what other color I could put on first, and than add this border on without any strips added in between. Also what size would it have to be so not to add strip to border?

tried putting a piece of the black with paw prints, but too much didn't like that.
