Jaba's blocks are 6"finished so I think you need to bring your center up to 48 1/2" for them to fit correctly. Hopefully she will jump in to correct me if I'm wrong.

OMG love that border corner! grand job!
on the choice between black and blue border or a white and purple border go with the black and blue it is a smoother quilt I think
lets see that border with piano keys but peach is the bomb. love it!!!
um who did I forget? think your math is correct on the what size do I need to make it all work 48.5 sounds absolutely right but.. yikes ask Jaba. she is the best math person for this game!
pbadder would love to see a easy round after that beautiful but busy center. I think a log cabin could work but maybe something even simpler would be a good start. perhaps the diamond edge? just an easy transition from the beauty of your applique to a quilted outer edge. just my opinion fling it out the window wont hurt my feelings at all!

hope everyone had some fun this weekend be it quilting or reading or just being out in the beautiful garden. Its still a bit too wet here and well we had snow but I enjoyed my time off for sure what did you do? I quilted all weekend long!!! yahoo!!! today is the end of my fun in the snow and its time to go back to dialysis tomorrow. I love my weekends oh yes I do!

thanks. I think that the black does make the center pop out.

Jill, that medallion is jaw-dropping. Love the swirls and curlicues. So pretty. What kind of applique are you doing? Pam, like the corner change and do like the peach as well.

Feel asleep last night hashing over possibilities before drifting off to sleep. Not sure where I am heading yet.

Math question: Who posted it? Anyway, Elisabrat is right, you want your quilt to be at 48.5 unfinished. 48 is the next even multiple of either 4 or 6 so either size block would work on your next round.

I'm 2 months behind again. I've still got 2 Sue blocks to put together before I can add more rounds. Time flies.

Linda, I think you are right-I will play with colors and try the diamond border...I think it needs to be low contrast...

I am just using a machine blanket stitch to applique-this was just going to be a practice run, but I like it and it's too late to needle-turn, which is my favorite method. The colors are soft-they look brighter on my monitor!

    Love that corner modification!

Off to pick up the grands....no stitching for me until Thursday! .

I was hoping to work on mine tonight but I can't decide on which color to use. I plan to use jaba's on-point square and I know I want to use the blue for the inside square. I could use some feedback. Do I introduce a new green or use the same green I used in the chevron or use the cream color?
hmmm....I should have shined a lamp on the fabric. The colors don't show well.

I like the blue and ivory. Do you have any more of the pink from the center block? How about that with the blue? I don't care for the new green.
