I am wondering if the strong geometric design of the block is fighting with the delicate swirls of the center???

I wondered about the delicate swirls as well, but you see it all the time and it seems to work well. A viney thing maybe?? Come to think of it, I am getting ready to applique swirly flowers, vines, and leaves, on a sharply geometric pattern and that is how the pattern was designed.

Default hope these pix aren't ginormous!

don't laugh at my eq attempts please! The medallion was as close as I could come without trying to draw it from scratch....
what do you think about these stars?

the pink and blue was too Easter-y looking.......
i kind of like the green and blue.......
I PROMISE row 2 will be easier! Ha!

Hmmmm, Jill, how about green blocks with the white background? Seeing those pink on pinks, maybe too much pink. And I kind of like the blue/green combination. Decisions, decisions! It is time for this tired brain to go to bed. Brat, I hope you are feeling up to snuff. Seems like you have been kind of quiet.

Jaba, I finished this top today. It is 90 x 104. If you ladies/gents remember, I had asked about blocks to make the thing longer. Well, I decided that all those half compass blocks were too much. I just went with half log cabin blocks. Added a plain black and then a thin batik and then a plain mottled/blender for the rest of the border. Just too much in the blocks and I had thought about pping like sharp pointy things, but decided against that because after doing those compass things, I just wanted to be done and I thought the center of the quilt had quite a lot going on. So here is the result and I posted pictures of the individual blocks in the picture section under the Tiger is Tamed. It is DONE@!!! Now to go to the quilter and let her do her magic. Q-65, I am in total awe. That is amazing!
Jill, I think I would go with the blue/green.

Finely, I made some decisions. Seeing the options of this month round made it easier to decide on what to do for the 3rd round. I actually went with my first idea, somehow I just needed to see what the 4th round was to make a decision. I hope to finish both rounds today, will post a picture then. So relieved to get going again.

Quilter 65-your finished quilt is gorgeous! Love the colors!

You will all be glad to know I finally made a decision!! Haha. Won't bore you with the details-will post pic when I get the first row done. Went a totally different direction! I need to purchase more fabric, and the shop is closed weekends and Mondays, we have the grands tues and weds, so may be awhile! Thank you all for your patience.....

jillmc.... it's amazing how much fabric we use on the rounds now isn't it? I used almost a full meter last round so I bought 2 meters of my new blue to use for this next one. Looking forward to your progress pictures... and looking forward to tackling my list once I get my arm out of it's sling.
