Sustraley is it exactly 42x42 or is it 42 1/2"x 42 1/2". That 1/2" is for the seam allowances, if your's is 42x42 you'll need to make it 42 1/2" square. Just add a small strip around the outside and it will look like piping...should be fine, then the chain will fit perfectly. Your blocks will finish at 6" so 6 divided into 42" equals 7 on each of 2 sides and 9 on the other 2. At each end you will have your 1/4" seam allowance for the next round. Your quilt will be 56 1/2" x 56 1/2" when you're done with this next chain border. Hope this makes sense to you, if questions just ask and I'll try to give you an answer.
Emma if I do it won't be until February, with Christmas and all coming up and people finishing this one, hubby and I are going on a cruise Mid January and we won't be home until February 1st.

Jabba: No pressure here. Just had so much fun on this one. Seems like a lot start in the fall so a New Year start is probably better anyway. A CRUISE, that sounds like heaven. Turning green with envy here.

With the mystery train starting up and lots are starting on making Christmas, I figured next year would be better. I'm looking forward to that cruise, leave all the cold and the snow and head to the Caribbean for a few days.

Emma, that is BIG and so BEAUTIFUL. Great job and yep, that green does the trick very nicely! They just talk to you, don't they and say I need something more. My kids will be wanting to send me to a secure location if they hear me talking that way!

This one is finished, some of the ladies are just finishing now. You are certainly welcome to go back through and get instructions to make one yourself and if you need any help I'd be glad to try and answer your questions. We'd love you to post each of your rounds so we can be a part of the process and enjoy your progression with you.
Another one may start up after the first of the year, but not until at least February for me.

Just checked in to see more finished ones. Loved all I saw. I have bought more fabric and hope to get started on the final border...a ribbon one. I just have to do some maths first and I hope to finish it before Christmas
