I think I read that you could use a different border. I really like the ribbon one, but I had these HST blocks from the snowball corners of the same quilt that I referred to about the center star. I needed to get to 24 inches, I thought, and these fit the bill. I arranged them so the half-moon was going in a circular motion around the center block, but I think the corners look weird, but have turned them every which way and I don't seem to come up with a better solution. Anyone have one? Or do they look "pinwheeley" enough? I have ripped the corners off a couple of time and tried turning them, even though I had experimented before. I am DETERMINED to use up some of this leftover block material in these borders. Here is the picture. The two side borders aren't attached yet.

Whitepine, I really like your block and agree with the blue choice. So very pretty. And what a great idea for squaring up the block, Bibliostone. I am counting on some input from you creative people. I have run out of blocks now, so will get with the program and make the suggested ones in the future. Have a good, restful night.

Quilter 65---maybe just put a solid square in the corners...maybe a green or gold?

Everyone is doing a great job. I tried to download my picture of my center. Couldn't get it to work. Will try tomorrow.

Thanks for the suggestions on squaring up my on point center.
Want to play around with different strip widths and see how I like them on those corners.

So for my first round ( started with 12 1/2" block) I chose the curling ribbon proved to be a little challenge for me on the corner as they do not give you measurements so winged it not all my points meet but meets my acceptable criteria I am trying to bring one color I used out to each round and add another color that is in the floral background on the starter block do have some of that background left not alot but will use through out the rest of the rounds. Took a break from Celtic Solstice and another mystery one needed something else to look at know what I mean?

Here is my 12 1/2 inch that I am starting with. Still have not decided on the first round. Have never made one of these type quilts, so I will probably have lots of questions. But I know I can depend on everyone here for answers.

That is very nice & airy, it will look great with any of the border suggestions.

I am enjoying seeing the variety of blocks and colors.
Quilter 65 -- I love your block looks like a christmas quilt. I agree if you change out the corner blocks would be a good solution.
Whitepine love your blues, I was thinking of doing one in blues too . (I wonder how many I could keep up with ) lol
Sue I like your block also…..thats the problem I want to do everything I see.
