I need to interrupt this celebration to ask a question.
I don't remember which quilter posted that she was going to fire up her EQ7 to do something with the block #18, but I was wondering:
Would it be really difficult to show us four of those blocks with the EQ7 program?
The reason I ask is: I can't figure out what those two odd pieces in the center are all about, and I am thinking that perhaps the designer had a secondary pattern in mind when she designed it?
Obviously, I don't have an EQ7, and probably never will have, but if you would share the difficulty of working with it, or the ease of working with it, others would be encouraged in their quilting career to add that program to their "tools". <wave>

Good point Omak-I still don't like block 18. Looks like somethings missing or maybe like you said, it's meant to go in a sequence to create a secondary pattern. Good idea to put 4 together to see what it looks like.

You might like what RWQuilts did with her block 18. It's on page 3 of this discussion. She swapped where the colors where with some of the pieces and made it come out more even. I plan on doing mine like hers when I get to it.

Guilty as charged Quilting Nonnie! LOL! It just seemed "off" somehow, so I changed the color placement...

Oh, man, I am so far behind that I don't think I even qualify for the slacker's group anymore.....but I am not dead in the water, just trolling along very, very slowly....

so here are blocks 17 &18--for block 17 EQ7 set the pp up in a very difficult to sew configuration and it wasn't until I finally got the block together that I realized that I could have changed how it was set up to pp and sew....that lump in the photo is not as noticeable in real life...it just scanned oddly....I will remember from now on to take time to look at the pp set up and see if I can make it easier on myself to construct the block....

Darcene, I like the way you set up this block. I may have to re-do mine. Thanks to you guys who think outside the box! (Is it still called by it's original name? :) )

I hadn't thought of that....maybe Another Century of Progress? I am sure that it has an "official" name but since each of our quilts will be so individualized, I really don't think it makes any difference what we call them....I love quilts that use the Century of Progress block...but it is not much of a stand alone block so I changed it up so that it could be used as a single block.....thanks for the kind comment....
