This isnt the Block of the Month linmid, it's the Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt Forum...you buy the book and we chat and post our blocks as we're all making the same thing. If you go to Home and scroll down it will show the Block of Month and Block of Week thread...there you can get directions to those patterns...if you want to join us, great! The more the merrier!

I'm doing scrappy - forcing myself to dig into my scraps box for everything I possibly can. I just finished a queen-sized "crumb chaos" quilt top, and used white for the sashing and borders - and it looks great. So I think I'll use white for this one, too.

Everyones block are so lovely. I have had trouble with the last 3 wanting to sew to 6 3/4 or 7 inches. Whatttttt. Will continue to sew and see what happens. Yes, I have checked measurements and quarter inch seams........ Always tomorrow. lol At least I will be able to see if there is any progress in making correct sizes.

My blocks are also coming out larger than they are supposed to and I know it has to be my templates and sewing that are at fault. Now I just have to sit back and think of how to fix it.

when you print out the templates just make sure you are always printing at 100%. many times for whatever reason the printer defaults at 101% or more . That will make a big difference. Anne

When I printed them it was set at 100 percent so I know that was ok. I think it is my template making. Oh yea and I did not mark the seam line.

Can someone tell me what the size of the sashing for the FW pattern? I can not print it from the CD that came with my book.
I'd appreciate any comments on the size of blocks you used if you enlarged your blocks....such as 7 inch square or 8 inch square.

Thanks to Honchey, I thought it was supposed to be 1.5 inches x 6.5 inches but my printer did not make a copy that was exactly that. Joyce
