Well now, my quilt will really be authentic! lolo electricity went out 4 times yesterday because of storms, during the day, sizzors and cutter worked fine, but at night, working by oil lamp was a challenge, and our Farmer's Wives did it all the time.

no problem with handle, cut on bias like it said, I appliqued the top first trying not stretch, then eased in the bottom, used a lot of pins and pressed and layed down fine

Okay, I am the odd man out here...
I pieced my basket handle. I also changed the block a bit so that the handle is "on" a half square triangle. The other just looked too odd/off for me.
I will try to get some pics up when I get a chance.

Would you like me to do a tutorial on the way I use freezer paper to make templates for hand piecing??

Yes I did blocks 1 and 2. Did those by machine. <G>

    Have fun,
    Pati, in Phx

My basket handle turned out beautifully with cutting on the bias and hand appliquing down...

Just a note: See page 91 on main discussion page for the choices we have so far for naming the FAQ page. Let me know if you have any additional suggestions, today is the last day I will accept those.

Thanx Qbird!! I am still thinking on it, I just have a few charm packs that I was not sure what I was going to do with so I thought I might use them here, thanx

Ok, I might look totally dumb, but can you guys explain to me what you mean by cutting on the bias? I'm totally lost. Thanks.

cutting the fabric on the diagonal, (so it will stretch if you need it to.)
